We work with transport companies who transport or handle Dangerous Goods, individual truck drivers needing to renew their Dangerous Goods License, and truck drivers who are looking to get their Dangerous Goods License for the first time.

To be eligible for a dangerous goods driver licence, you must;

  • Be a Queensland resident.
  • Hold a current Queensland open driver licence (or a current Queensland probationary or restricted licence if you have previously held an open driver licence).
  • Have a medical certificate for motor vehicle drivers issued no later than 6 months before you apply.
  • Have completed an approved dangerous goods driver training course no later than 6 months before you apply.
  • Have an acceptable criminal history and traffic history.

Jacob Carr

Course Instructor
Jacob has over ten years’ experience in the transport of dangerous goods across New Zealand and Australia. He began his career with a small biotechnology company in New Zealand and more recently worked as a Warehouse Manager for an Australian scientific supplies organisation. In these roles, he was directly responsible for the manual handling, storage, packing, and consignment of dangerous goods transported by both road and sea.
 
Jacob has a comprehensive and detailed understanding of dangerous goods legislation, codes, and regulatory guidelines. He holds the TAE40116 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, TLID0018 – Prepare Dangerous Goods for Transport, and TLILIC0001 – Licence to Transport Dangerous Goods by Road, HLTPAT005 – Collect Specimen for Drugs of Abuse Testing. He has also successfully completed AMSA-approved Maritime General Awareness and Maritime Function-Specific Dangerous Goods training.
 
Jacob is passionate about designing and delivering accurate, appropriately detailed training materials. His training is presented in a logical, structured manner and broken down into clear, easy-to-understand components to support effective learning outcomes.
