What We Do
We specialise in providing premium quality training courses relating to the transport, handling and storage of dangerous goods for road and rail. We offer high quality training and assessment provided by the most experienced and well credentialed trainers available.
We take seriously the importance of correct knowledge of regulations in the transport industry and reflect this by providing our training in a fun, laid back approach while maintaining the credibility and integrity of our RTO.
We deliver the following training courses:
- TLID0018 – Preparation for Transport of Dangerous Goods
- TLILIC00001 – Licence to Transport of Dangerous Goods
We currently run these courses once a week and the first weekend of every month on the weekend at our Underwood office. They are held at Rockhampton once every month, Mackay and Toowoomba every 3 months. We also hold them on site at customer offices as requested.
All our participants receive comprehensive materials and training sessions that combine excellent teaching practice and current industry knowledge.
Who We Are
Dangerous Goods Services Pty Ltd is an Australia owned and operated Company specialising in the provision of Transport Dangerous Goods Training for Queensland participants; and the supply of Dangerous Goods Signage for the wider Australia region.
We have been a family run business since 1997, started by John and Susan Mills before they passed the mantle to the current Owners and Managing Directors – Fiona Glancy and Rebecca Pop. We are a compelling first choice for participants because of our knowledge and reputation in the industry, proven experience in management of successful multi million dollar companies, and extensive experience with working with many high profile companies. Fiona and her team have developed a significant network of contacts in diverse sectors of the transport industry.
Our team is qualified, dedicated and supported. They receive regular training – risks are identified, measured and responded to consistently in monthly meetings and regular audits.

Managing team
Fiona has had over 20 years experience in strategic management, governance and project management. With her vast knowledge in team management combined with outstanding communication skills, Fiona is a unique and valuable asset to DGS. The personal relationships Fiona has built throughout her careers sees DGS integrated as a key delivery partner with participants to provide services across industries. This leads to DGS not only gaining continuous business but also new business through referrals.
With over 18 years of experience in team management, work scheduling and business administration, Rebecca ensures the smooth operation of staff members as well as contractors and projects.
Rebecca’s training and experience in operating complex systems has been a key driver in ensuring the optimal maintenance of the company’s multiple sectors. Rebecca also makes sure SGA systems including 4 main software systems are updated regularly to ensure efficiency.
Jacob Carr
Trainer
Jacob has been involved in the transport of dangerous goods for over 7 years. Initially, as a laboratory assistant for a small biotech company in New Zealand. Then, more recently, as warehouse manager for a scientific supplies company here in Australia. Within these roles he has been involved in the manual handling, storage, packing and consignment of dangerous goods, moving by road and/or sea freight. He has an in-depth understanding of dangerous goods legislation, codes, and guidelines. He also currently holds the TAE40116 – Cert IV in Training and assessment, TLILID0018 – Prepare Dangerous Goods for Transport, TLILIC0001 – Licence to Transport Dangerous Goods, and completed the AMSA accepted Maritime General Awareness and Maritime Function Specific Dangerous Goods training. He is passionate about designing and delivering appropriately detailed and accurate training material, which is presented logically, and broken down in a way that is easy to understand.
Teagan McPhail
Accounts
Teagan joined DGS in August 2021. She has completed a Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping and has 16 years of accounts experience and started her career in the steel manufacturing industry. Her current role varies from the most important tasks of Payroll and Invoicing to taking bookings for our customers and providing administrative support to our training team.
