DGS is a proudly Australian-owned and operated company specialising in the provision of structured, contextualised and detailed training for Queensland participants, who are involved in day to day operations within industries transporting dangerous goods.
We have been a family run business since 1997, started by John and Susan Mills before they passed the mantle to the current Owner and Managing Director – Fiona Glancy. We are a compelling first choice for participants because of our knowledge and reputation in the industry, proven experience and extensive experience, working with many high profile companies. Fiona and her team have developed a significant network of contacts in diverse sectors of the transport industry. Our team of qualified trainers are dedicated and supported through regular training, professional development and industry engagement.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I legally need dangerous goods certification to transport and store DG materials?
QLD TORUM DG Regulation s20 requires that all those who are assigned responsibilities/duties under the regulation, must be trained appropriately to fulfill those duties. DG Awareness courses that are not nationally recognised, do not contain sufficient information to meet this requirement. This is why we developed the TLID0018 Prepare for Transport of DG, in order to try and full this training gap. However, if you require a license to transport 'Bulk" DG (>500L/kg individual capacity - except for the IBC exemption in Reg s184), then you will specifically require the TLILIC0001 License to Transport DG, in order to obtain your DG industry authority through the competent authority.
How long does the course take, and is it available online?
The TLILIC0001 licensing course is required to be delivered across two consecutive days involving a minimum of 16 hrs of training and assessment. The TLILIC0001 is specifically required to be delivered in person, and is not allowed to be offered as an online course. The TLID0018 prepare for transport course is a one day course, and is contextualized to the learners who are in attendance. The TLID0018 timeframes vary depending on the specific requirements of the class.
What types of dangerous goods does the course cover?
These courses cover classes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9. We do not specifically cover class 1 explosive or class 7 radioactive. Class 1 and 7 will require specific training on their associated legislation and codes. We hope to bring you this training in the future.
Does the certification allow me to legally transport DGs for my work or business?
The TLILIC0001 License to Transport DG is not your license. This is simply the unit of competency required to obtain your license. DGs that are not in 'Bulk' capacities, do not require a license to transport, only sufficient training (TLID0018 Prepare for Transport of DG).
What assessments are involved, and how long until I receive my certificate?
The assessments involve questions and scenarios relevant to each subject, and delivered progressively throughout the course as each subject is completed. Your certification will be issued as soon as possible, but not on the same day as the course.

Presented the material in a way that was easy to understand and made sure everyone there was able to understand and grasp all the concepts they needed for their specific roles.
I highly recommend doing the course with him. If you are new to the industry or renewing, he makes the material interesting and explains it well. Very approachable with any questions you have and made what can be a mind numbing tedious course (on your 5th renewal) enjoyable.
